Playtest Hub Overview

Gather valuable feedback and refine your games with structured playtesting.

The Playtest Hub is the landing page for everything in Playtest & gather feedback. It lists every playtest you've set up across your games, with quick stats on how each one's going.

This page covers what you see on the hub and how to navigate to the rest of the playtest workflow.

What this page helps you do

  • See every playtest in your team workspace.

  • Spot which playtests have new feedback to review.

  • Open the right playtest in one click.

  • Start a new playtest from here.

Open the Playtest Hub

In the sidebar, click Playtests. You'll land on the hub.

The hub shows every playtest as a card with:

  • The playtest name (often something like "Castle Project, v0.7 playtest at FLGS").

  • The linked game with cover art.

  • Status: Setting up, Running, Reviewing, Done.

  • Number of responses received on the feedback form.

  • Date scheduled or last activity date.

Click any card to open that playtest's detail page.

Filter and search

Above the list:

  • Search: type a playtest name or game name.

  • Filter by game: narrow to one game's playtests.

  • Filter by status: find ones still running or ready to review.

Start a new playtest

Click New playtest in the top right. The setup flow walks you through:

  • Picking the game being tested.

  • Naming the playtest and adding details.

  • Optionally building a feedback form.

  • Sharing with playtesters.

See Set up a playtest for the full walkthrough.

Tips & common questions

Can a playtest be linked to more than one game? A playtest is for one game. If you're running a back-to-back session covering multiple games, set up one playtest per game.

What if I don't have a digital feedback form, am I out of luck? Not at all. Many designers run in-person playtests with paper notes, then log the feedback into Boardssey afterwards. See Logging external playtester data manually.

Why don't I see playtests another team member set up? You're probably a Collaborator scoped to specific games and don't have access to those games. Check with the team Owner or Admin.

Does the hub show playtests from all my teams? No, playtests are per-team-workspace. Switch teams via the workspace switcher to see another team's playtests.
