Carton Marks

Your board game’s packaging clearly marked

Carton Marks is a Pre-production tool that generates the standard manufacturing marks for a printed sheet, color bars, registration crosses, cut and fold lines. Manufacturers use these marks to align, trim, and quality-check the print.

Open the tool

In the sidebar, click ToolsPre-productionCarton Marks.


Configure your sheet

Set:

  • Sheet size: the dimensions of the printed sheet (often A2, B2, or a manufacturer-specified custom size).

  • Bleed: usually 3 mm. Confirm with your manufacturer.

  • Marks to include: color bars, registration crosses, trim lines, fold lines, slug area.

The preview updates as you change settings.

Click Download to get a vector PDF you can drop into your manufacturer's prepress workflow, or layer over your printed artwork in your design tool.


Tips & common questions

My manufacturer wants different marks. Ask them for a template they prefer. The generic marks Carton Marks produces work for most printers, but specific shops have their own preferences.

Do I need this for a print-and-play prototype? No. Carton Marks is for commercial print runs. For PnP, use P&P Cards Layout.

What's the difference between Carton Marks and Dieline Generator? Carton Marks adds quality and alignment marks to a flat sheet. Dieline Generator produces the cut/fold lines for a 3D component (box, tray, etc.). Different jobs.
