What’s New (November 2025 – January 2026)

Here’s a summary of what changed or improved in Boardssey in November 2025, December 2025, and January 2026, focused on how it affects your experience and where it happens in the app.

Updated today

Dashboard

The Dashboard is the main home page when you open your team — Featured tools, action items, latest games, and latest playtests.

  • Task list: The list of tasks on the dashboard now supports pagination and sorting, so you can browse and sort your action items more easily.

  • Latest playtests: Playtest data in the “Latest playtests” section is mapped and displayed more clearly.

  • Latest games: Fallback behavior for game cover images was updated when a cover is missing.

  • The Dashboard label in the navigation was renamed to Stats where it refers to the project statistics view (see Projects).

Games

  • Game cover upload: Improved file size checks, error handling, and Supabase integration.

  • Game information tabs and BGG forums integration were enhanced; BGG forum content and data fetching were improved.

  • RSS feed management and BGG integration for forums were implemented; the “no entries” message was updated.

  • Game versioning (Versions): You can now edit and delete versions; the version input field was adjusted for consistency.

  • Changelog: Navigation between versions was fixed; changelog components were streamlined.

  • Rich text support was added for descriptions where applicable.

  • Shared games: Novelty and shared state management were updated.

  • Image handling in game components was updated, and a template selection modal for sell sheets was added.

  • Pitch reminders and reminder functionality were updated.

  • Media modal: Refactored with improved PDF handling, navigation UI, and iframe communication for embedded content; index validation and cleanup were enhanced.

Catalog

Catalog is your external portfolio and shared games.

  • YouTube embeds in the portfolio tabs were updated: related videos are disabled on the embedded player, and the embed is integrated more cleanly.

  • Embed height and iframe visibility were improved for embedded portfolio content.

Projects

Projects is where you manage projects and their tasks (Stats tab, task list, calendar, and All Tasks).

Stats tab

  • The main tab that shows project and task statistics is now called Stats (instead of “Dashboard”), so it’s clearer what you’re viewing.

  • Project cards now show completion percentage, overdue task counts, and an archived badge when a project is archived. Each card has an actions menu for quick options.

  • You can refresh project/board statistics with a single click so the numbers stay up to date.

  • Last updated is shown for each project so you know when it was last changed.

  • Task statistics (completion, overdue, in progress) were improved for clearer display.

  • A loading state was added when opening or loading Projects so the transition feels smoother.

  • Tab navigation and lazy loading were added so the Projects page loads faster: the Stats view loads first, and tasks/calendar load when you switch to those tabs.

  • Task loading was optimized with caching and pagination; you can use Load more to fetch additional tasks.

Tasks & All Tasks

  • Grouped task views are available in the All Tasks view: you can view tasks grouped by assignee or grouped by project.

  • Load more lets you load additional tasks when viewing by assignee or by project.

  • Task filtering and grouping in the All Tasks table were improved for a clearer, more flexible view.

Kanban board

  • Column movement and sorting on the Kanban board were improved.

  • Column aliases and edit permissions were added; state management was enhanced.

Calendar

  • Google Calendar integration: OAuth sign-in, event management, and calendar settings (choose calendars, disconnect, sort to prioritize primary calendar) are now fully supported.

  • Calendar settings include a disconnect confirmation dialog and improved token and error handling.

Other

  • Task handling and display were improved across project-related screens, including fixes so task IDs stay consistent when you work with them.

Playtests

  • The playtest dashboard (when you open a game and go to its Playtests section) now has version filtering so you can focus on a specific game version.

  • New metrics were added, including player count and other analytics, with clearer data handling.

  • Layout and spacing on the playtest dashboard were adjusted for a cleaner view.

  • Win status was added to player data and reflected in the playtest UI.

  • Version change descriptions in playtest components are now truncated when long, so the list stays readable.

  • Feedback submissions (e.g. from playtests or forms) can now be exported as CSV.

Whiteboard

  • Game management and navigation in the Whiteboard were improved. You can now attach Whiteboards to specific games.

Sell Sheets

Sell Sheets is the sell sheet designer and editor.

Editor

  • Text rendering and formatting options were added in the editor.

  • File drag-and-drop and file selection for loading files were implemented.

  • Unsaved changes warning and media handling were enhanced.

  • AI text feature and JSON download were added.

Contacts

  • Category filtering was improved so you can find and filter contacts more easily.

  • You can open a specific contact in a modal via a URL parameter (e.g. from a link in an email or another app).

Settings & account

These updates affect team or account settings, billing, invitations, and onboarding — usually reached from the account menu or settings area.

Invitations

  • Invite form: Email is normalized to lowercase to ensure consistent invitation matching.

  • The default role for new invites is set to member.

  • Invitation flow and project dependencies were improved.

Onboarding & account

  • A Sign out button was added to the onboarding page.

  • Google identity linking is available in auth configuration.

  • Publisher data fetching now includes subscription validation and improved error handling.

  • Account deletion: When an account is deleted, related games and ideas are now removed in a consistent way (cascading delete).

  • Account settings feature flags were updated.

App-wide

These changes apply across the app rather than to a single nav area.

  • Command Palette: Quick search (e.g. via keyboard shortcut) to find and jump to games, tasks, playtests, projects, contacts, sell sheets, and tools; search was improved for speed and relevance.

  • Copy to team: You can copy a project to another team workspace, making it easier to reuse or share games.
