Roadmap and feature requests

See what Boardssey is working on and post your own ideas from the gift icon in the sidebar. Many features started as designer requests.

Boardssey keeps a public roadmap and an ideas board, both reachable from inside the app. You can see what is being built, vote on other designers' ideas and post your own. Many features in the app today, small and large, started that way.

What this page helps you do

  • Open the roadmap from the app.
  • Post a feature request that is easy to act on.
  • Vote on ideas other designers posted.
  • Know what belongs on the roadmap and what belongs in support.

You'll start from the gift icon next to the logo at the top of the sidebar.

Open the roadmap

Click the gift icon next to the Boardssey logo at the top of the sidebar. A panel opens over the app.

Helpful details

  • Key areas: the panel holds the latest announcements, the roadmap and the ideas board. Switch between them inside the panel.
  • What you can do: read what is being worked on now, what is planned and what shipped recently.
  • Good to know: the roadmap is a snapshot of current plans, not a promise. Items move as priorities change. The gift icon is hidden while the sidebar is collapsed to icons; expand it first.

Post a feature request

In the panel, open the ideas board and add a new idea.

  1. Give it a short title that says what you want.
  2. In the description, explain the problem it solves for you, with a concrete example. "In playtests, I want to log the player count per session so I can filter feedback by group size" is far more useful than "better playtest analytics".
  3. Submit. The panel already knows your Boardssey email, so there is nothing else to sign up for.

Helpful details

  • Key areas: other designers can see and vote on your idea. The team reads new ideas regularly.
  • What you can do: search the board before posting. If your idea is already there, vote for it and add a comment with your angle instead of creating a duplicate.
  • Good to know: ideas are public. Keep confidential details (an unannounced game, a publisher deal) out of them and use the chat bubble or hello@boardssey.com instead.

How requests get prioritized

Roughly, in order of weight:

  • How many designers are blocked. If a missing feature stops people doing real work today, it moves up.
  • How many designers asked. An idea with fifty votes carries more weight than one with one vote.
  • Fit. Does it fit where Boardssey is going as a product for board game creators?
  • Effort. Small requests can ship quickly; big ones may wait for groundwork.

Not everything will ship, and not everything should. High-vote, high-impact ideas consistently move forward.

What does not go through the roadmap

A few things have better channels.

When in doubt, use the chat bubble. The team will point you to the ideas board if it turns out to be a request.

Tips & common questions

Where do I see that my idea shipped? The roadmap marks shipped items, and the announcement appears in the same panel. See Latest update.

My idea was declined. Why? Sometimes an idea does not fit Boardssey's direction, is better served by a specialized tool, or conflicts with something already planned. The team tries to explain when that is the case.

Can I see the roadmap without signing in? Open the gift icon from inside the app; that is the entry point Boardssey provides. Sign in first.

Why isn't an obvious feature on the roadmap? Because nobody has asked yet. Post it. The roadmap grows from real demand, not guesses about what people might want.
