Boardssey's interface is available in ten languages. This page is for anyone who wants the app in their own language, or who sees it in the wrong one.
What this page helps you do
- Change the language of menus, buttons and messages.
- Know which languages are available.
- Understand what the setting does not translate.
You'll start from Settings > My Account > Language.
Pick a language
- Open your profile menu at the bottom of the sidebar and choose Settings. Stay on My Account.
- Find the Language card ("Choose your preferred language").
- Pick a language from the list. The app switches right away.
Helpful details
- Key areas: the Language card sits under Your Name.
- What you can do: choose English, Deutsch, Español, Français, Italiano, 日本語, 한국어, Português, 简体中文 or 繁體中文.
- Good to know: the choice is saved to your account, so it follows you to every browser and device you sign in from. Before you choose, Boardssey uses your browser's language.
What changes and what does not
The setting translates Boardssey's own text: the sidebar, buttons, dialogs, notification emails and help text.
Helpful details
- Key areas: everything Boardssey wrote, in every team you open.
- What you can do: teammates each pick their own language; yours does not affect them.
- Good to know: text your team typed (game names, rules, notes, tasks, chat) stays in the language it was written in. Your public Catalog shows the interface language set in the Catalog's own settings, whatever the visitor's language. Web addresses never contain a language.
Tips & common questions
The app is in a language I did not choose. Boardssey followed your browser's language. Pick your language on the Language card once and it sticks.
Can my whole team use one language? Each person picks their own. Ask teammates to set theirs.
Something is still in English. English fills in for any text that has not been translated yet. Tell us through the chat bubble and we will add the translation.
Does the language change my Catalog? No. The Catalog has its own interface language in the Catalog settings.
