How to Use the “External Resources”

Efficiently manage all the external links and resources your game project needs.

The “External Resources” section lets you organize and link to important files, websites, or tools related to your board game project. Here’s how you can make the most of it:

1. Accessing External Resources

  • Navigate to your game’s workspace.

  • In the sidebar or tabs, find and click on External Resources.

  • You’ll see a list of all resources currently linked to this game.

2. Adding a New Resource

  1. Click “New Resource”

    • Look for a button labeled New Resource or a plus (+) icon.

  2. Fill in the Resource Details

    • Resource Name: Enter a descriptive name for your resource (e.g., “Prototype Files”, “Artwork Folder”).

    • Resource URL: Paste the full link to the resource (e.g., https://drive.google.com/...,).

  3. Save the Resource

    • Click the Save resource button to add it to your list.

3. Viewing and Using Resources

  • All your added resources will appear in a list.

  • Each entry shows the resource name and its URL.

  • Click the link to open the resource in a new tab.

4. Editing a Resource

  1. Find the Resource

    • In the list, locate the resource you want to update.

  2. Click “Edit”

    • Click the Edit button (usually represented by a pencil icon).

  3. Update Details

    • Change the name or URL as needed.

  4. Save Changes

    • Click Update Resource to save your edits.

5. Deleting a Resource

  1. Locate the Resource

    • Find the resource you wish to remove.

  2. Click “Delete”

    • Click the Delete button (often a trash can icon).

  3. Confirm Deletion

    • A confirmation dialog will appear, showing the resource name and URL.

    • Confirm that you want to delete the resource.Note: This action cannot be undone.

6. Tips & Best Practices

  • Descriptive Names: Use clear, descriptive names so collaborators know what each resource is for.

  • Valid URLs: Double-check that your links work and are accessible to your team.

  • Keep It Organized: Remove outdated or unused resources to keep your workspace tidy.

7. Troubleshooting

  • If you see an error when adding or editing a resource, check that the URL is valid and all required fields are filled.

  • If a resource link doesn’t open, verify that you have permission to access the external site.
