Dashboard tour
Your dashboard at a glance, what needs you today, how your games are doing, and how to arrange the cards your way.
Last reviewed October 11, 2026
When you open a team workspace, you land on its dashboard: one page that shows what needs you today and how your games are doing. This tour covers each part of it and how to arrange it your way.
What this page helps you do
- See at a glance what's overdue, due soon, or waiting on a reply.
- Know what each card on the dashboard shows.
- Move, resize, hide and add cards, including Trending on BGG.
- Find the setup checklist when you want it, and hide it when you don't.
You'll start from the dashboard.
Your first visit
If your team has no games yet, the dashboard is a checklist instead: Set up followed by your team's name, with two tracks, Your studio and Discover. Each step links to the place where you do it.
Create your first game and the full dashboard below appears. The checklist then moves to a tab on the right edge of the screen (see The setup checklist further down).
The status strip
The row of tiles at the top counts what needs you. Click a tile to open the matching page.
- Overdue tasks: tasks assigned to you that are past their due date, and how late the oldest one is.
- Due this week: tasks assigned to you that are due today or later this week.
- Upcoming playtests: scheduled playtests, with the date and game of the next one.
- Outreach to follow up: conversations with publishers, reviewers and partners that are waiting on a reply, and the longest wait.
- Unread in team chat: unread messages across your channels. This tile only shows on plans that include Team Chat.
Tool shortcuts
Under the strip is a row of five tool shortcuts. Recently used shows the tools you opened last, and Popular tools fills the rest of the row. Click All tools to see every tool.
On a phone the shortcuts row is hidden, and the status tiles above it stack as compact rows. Open Tools from the sidebar instead.
The cards
Below the tools are the dashboard cards. Unless you change your layout, you see these five:
- Your tasks: open tasks grouped into Overdue, Today, This week and Later. Switch between Mine and Team, and tick a task's checkbox to mark it done right there. Due dates and the grouping follow your own time zone, read from your browser.
- Games pipeline: how your active games spread across statuses, then one row per game with its playtests and open tasks. A game that needs attention gets a short note, like Never playtested.
- Since your last visit: playtests logged, versions added, tasks completed and outreach updated since you last opened the dashboard. New items are highlighted.
- Playtests: your average engagement (on the playtest's 1 to 7 scale) over the last 90 days and how it compares with the 90 days before, plus Upcoming sessions and Recent results.
- Outreach follow-ups: open conversations with publishers, reviewers and partners, longest wait first.
One more card is available, but it stays hidden until you add it:
- Trending on BGG: the top 10 games on BoardGameGeek's hotness list right now. See Add Trending on BGG below.
Each card links through to the full page for its data when you want more detail. All tasks on the Your tasks card, like the Overdue tasks and Due this week tiles, opens the Projects page, where the All Tasks tab lists every open task.
Customise your layout
- Under the cards, click Customise layout.
- To move a card, drag it by the handle at the top left of the card.
- To resize a card, open its width menu and pick One third, Half, Two thirds or Full width.
- To hide a card, click the eye icon at the top right of the card. It moves to the Hidden: list under the cards.
- Click Done.
Helpful details
- Key areas: the bar that appears above each card while you customise, and the buttons under the cards.
- What you can do: bring back a hidden card by clicking its name next to Hidden:, or click Reset layout to put every card back where it started.
- Good to know: your layout is saved to your account for this team, so it follows you to every device. Each teammate arranges their own.
Add Trending on BGG
Trending on BGG shows what the board game world is excited about right now: the top 10 of BoardGameGeek's hotness list. It's hidden until you add it.
- Under the cards, click Customise layout.
- Next to Hidden:, click + Trending on BGG.
- Click Done.
The card appears after your other cards. Each game shows its cover, year, player count and play time, and clicking a game opens its page on BGG. Hover over a game to see its designers, a short description, its mechanics and its weight (how complex BGG players rate it, from 1 to 5).
Helpful details
- Key areas: the + Trending on BGG button next to Hidden: while you customise.
- What you can do: move it next to other cards, change its width, or hide it again with the eye icon.
- Good to know: Boardssey refreshes the list from BGG about twice a day, so it can trail BGG's own page by a few hours.
The setup checklist
While your team still has setup steps left, a Setup checklist tab sits on the right edge of the dashboard, showing how many steps are done. Click it to see every step, grouped into Your studio and Discover.
Two steps are for admins only and hidden from everyone else: Set your brand colours and Invite a teammate. Members see a shorter list.
Done with it? Click Don't show this again at the bottom of the checklist to hide it for this team on every device. It also goes away on its own once every step is done.
Tips & common questions
My dashboard is just a checklist. That's the first-run view for a team with no games yet. Create your first game and the full dashboard appears. The fastest way there is Quick start in 5 minutes.
Can I have different dashboards per team? Yes. Each team workspace has its own dashboard with that team's data, and your layout is saved separately for each team.
Can my whole team see the same layout? No, the layout is personal. Everyone sees the same team data, but each person arranges their own cards.
I set a card to One third, but it fills the whole row. Cards in a row stretch to fill it, so a card alone on its row spans the full width. Move it next to other cards to see it at the width you picked.
Why isn't Trending on BGG on my dashboard? It's hidden until you add it: click Customise layout, then + Trending on BGG, then Done. If the card says BoardGameGeek is not responding, BGG is busy for the moment. Try again in a few minutes.
