Last reviewed October 11, 2026

Boardssey can pull your Google Calendar events into the Calendar tab, so you can plan your tasks around the meetings and events you already have. This article covers connecting, choosing which calendars show, and disconnecting.

What this page helps you do

  • Connect your Google Calendar to Boardssey.
  • Pick which of your Google calendars appear in the Calendar tab.
  • Switch the industry events calendar on or off.
  • Disconnect when you no longer want the connection.

You'll start from Projects in the sidebar, the Calendar tab, then Manage Calendars.

How the connection works

The connection is read-only and one way: Google Calendar into Boardssey.

Helpful details

  • Key areas: events from the calendars you pick show in the Calendar tab as read-only chips next to your task deadlines.
  • What you can do: plan around your meetings without creating tasks for them.
  • Good to know: Boardssey asks Google for read-only access and never creates, edits or deletes a Google event. Your task deadlines stay in Boardssey.

1. Connect your Google Calendar

You can connect from two places.

  1. On the Calendar tab, click Manage Calendars. Or open your personal Settings and scroll to Calendar Settings.
  2. Click Connect Google Calendar.
  3. Sign in with the Google account whose calendar you want, and allow read-only access to your calendars.
  4. You come back to Boardssey and your calendars are ready to pick.

Helpful details

  • Key areas: the Manage Google Calendars dialog on the Calendar tab, or the Calendar Settings section of your personal settings.
  • What you can do: connect once; the connection belongs to you, not to a team, so it follows you to every team you belong to.
  • Good to know: you have one Google connection per Boardssey account. Connecting a different Google account replaces the previous one in every team.

2. Choose which calendars show

After connecting, the same dialog lists your calendars.

Helpful details

  • Key areas: the switches under "Select calendars to sync", one per Google calendar, with your main calendar marked "(Primary)". A line counts how many are selected.
  • What you can do: switch on the calendars you want (work, personal, a side project) and leave the rest off. Only the ones you switch on appear in Boardssey.
  • Good to know: the industry calendar has its own switch: Show External Events in the dialog, called Show Industry Events on the settings page. It is on by default. These are personal settings; teammates' choices do not affect yours.

Disconnect

In the Manage Google Calendars dialog or in Calendar Settings, click Disconnect Google Calendar and confirm.

Helpful details

  • Key areas: the Disconnect Google Calendar button and the "Disconnect Google Calendar?" confirmation.
  • What you can do: reconnect later at any time, with the same or another Google account.
  • Good to know: Boardssey stops showing your Google events, removes the stored connection and revokes its access at Google. Nothing in your Google Calendar changes, because Boardssey only ever read from it.

Tips & common questions

Will Boardssey add my tasks to my Google Calendar? No. The connection is read-only. Your task deadlines live in Boardssey's Calendar tab.

Can I connect Outlook or Apple Calendar? No. Boardssey supports Google Calendar only.

A Google event I expected is not showing. Check that its calendar is switched on under "Select calendars to sync". Repeating events are shown as their single occurrences for the dates on screen.

Can I use a different Google account in a different team? No. The connection is per Boardssey account, and connecting another Google account replaces it everywhere.
