Last reviewed October 11, 2026

The Calendar tab plots your team's open tasks on their due dates, next to the events of your Google Calendar and the board game industry calendar. Use it to see what each week holds.

What this page helps you do

  • See the week, month or year at a glance.
  • Open a task from the calendar.
  • See Google Calendar and industry events next to your deadlines.

You'll start from Projects in the sidebar, then the Calendar tab (/home/projects?tab=calendar).

Open the Calendar

In the sidebar, click Projects, then the Calendar tab. The header reads "Visualize your deadlines alongside events" and has a Manage Calendars button.

Helpful details

  • Key areas: the toolbar with previous and next arrows, Today, and the view buttons Week, Month and Year.
  • What you can do: the calendar opens on the current month. Click Today to come back to it after browsing.
  • Good to know: it shows every open task with a due date from the projects you can see. Completed tasks and tasks without a due date are not shown. There are no filters on this tab.

Switch views

Use the buttons on the right of the toolbar.

Helpful details

  • Key areas: Month is a grid with a chip per task. Week is a list of the week's tasks and events, day by day. Year shows several months side by side.
  • What you can do: plan with Month, work from Week, and look far ahead with Year.
  • Good to know: a task chip takes the colour of the task's first tag. Hover it to see "<project> - <game>" (or "No Game" for a team project).

Open a task or an event

Click a chip to open it.

Helpful details

  • Key areas: task chips, and the event chips from Google Calendar and the industry calendar.
  • What you can do: a task opens on its project board with the task sheet open, where you can change the due date. An event opens a small dialog with When, Where, Description and Calendar.
  • Good to know: events are read-only. Boardssey never changes your Google Calendar.

Add outside events

Click Manage Calendars to connect your Google Calendar and to switch the industry calendar on or off.

Helpful details

  • Key areas: the Manage Google Calendars dialog with the Show External Events switch and Connect Google Calendar.
  • What you can do: once connected, pick the calendars to show under "Select calendars to sync". See Connecting Google Calendar.
  • Good to know: the industry calendar (conventions, submission windows and similar) is on by default, before you connect anything. These are personal settings; your choices do not change what teammates see.

Tips & common questions

Why is my calendar empty? Your tasks have no due dates, or they are all complete. Open a task and set a Due date to put it on the calendar.

Are playtests or milestones on the Calendar? No. Playtests live in the Playtests area. Milestones live on the Milestones tab and can be shown on the task Timeline. See Plan key dates with Milestones.

Can I drag a task to another day? No. Click the task and change its Due date in the sheet. Due dates are whole days; there is no time of day.

Does the Calendar follow my time zone? Yes. Tasks are placed on the due day in your browser's time zone. A due date is saved as midnight for the person who set it, so a teammate many hours west can see it one day earlier. See the "Due dates and time zones" section of Tasks and subtasks.

How do I find tasks without a due date? Open the All Tasks tab, sort by Deadline, and scroll to the end: undated tasks come last. The Timeline also counts them.
