Your team workspace name is the label that appears in the workspace switcher, on invitations, and in some places on your public catalog. You can change it any time, none of your games, projects, or other data are affected.

Before you start

You need to be an Owner or Admin of the team to change these settings.
Renaming is safe, your games, projects, playtests, contacts, billing, and members stay exactly where they are. Only the label changes.

Rename your team

In the sidebar, click your team name (bottom-left), then Settings. Make sure the General tab is selected (URL ends in /home/settings#general).

Find the Team name field at the top. Type the new name and click Save (or it saves automatically, depends on the field).

The new name shows up immediately in the sidebar's workspace switcher and on the public catalog header.

Team slug

Your team also has a slug, a short, URL-safe version of your team name used in URLs (like the public catalog URL: bdsy.cc/your-slug).

If you change your team name, the slug doesn't change automatically, that would break any links you've already shared. To update it:

In team settings, find the Team slug field (or Catalog URL in the Catalog area, depending on where you look).
Type the new slug. Lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens only.
Save.

When you change the slug, your old public catalog URL stops working immediately. If you've shared the old URL on social media, in pitches, or in your email signature, update those references after you change the slug.

Update your team logo

In team settings, find the Team logo section. Upload an image, a square or circular logo works best, since the logo appears in round avatars in some places.

The team logo shows in:

The team's spot in the workspace switcher.
The public catalog header (if you have one published).
Some default sell sheet templates.

Click Save if the field doesn't auto-save.

Tips & common questions

Will renaming break my public catalog? The display name on the catalog updates instantly. The catalog URL only changes if you also change the slug, and we strongly recommend updating the slug only when you really need to, since old links will break.

Can two teams have the same name? Display names can collide (Boardssey doesn't enforce uniqueness on names), but slugs must be unique. If your preferred slug is taken, you'll need a variant.

My team name is on invoices, can I change that? Billing information uses the billing name in the Stripe-hosted billing portal, not the team name in Boardssey. To update what appears on invoices, see Update or cancel your subscription and use Edit billing information in the portal.

I changed the slug and people are reporting broken links. The old slug is gone, there's no automatic redirect. Get the new URL from Enable and customize your catalog and re-share it where the old one was posted.

Can I have an emoji in my team name? Yes for the display name. No for the slug.
