My Calendar

Updated over 2 weeks ago

The Calendar shows your project tasks on a timeline so you can see when things are due. It shows only the tasks assigned to you (the logged-in user)—not your whole team’s tasks. You can switch between week, month, and year views, and optionally connect Google Calendar to see your personal events alongside your project work. This article explains where to find the calendar and how to use it.

What this page helps you do

  • View your tasks on a calendar so you can see deadlines and schedule at a glance.

  • See only your own tasks—the calendar is filtered to the logged-in user’s assignments, not the entire team’s.

  • Switch between Week, Month, and Year to zoom in or out on your schedule.

  • Connect Google Calendar to show your personal events next to your project tasks (optional).

  • Choose which calendars appear using Manage Calendars and the toggles for project tasks and Google events.

All of this lives inside a project. Go to your team’s Projects, open a project, then click Calendar in the project’s sidebar.

Opening the calendar

Open Calendar from the project sidebar

Calendar in the project sidebar

Click Calendar in the left sidebar to open the calendar view for the current project. The calendar will show only the tasks assigned to you in that project.

Helpful details

  • Key areas on the screen: The sidebar lists Calendar with other project areas (e.g. Stats, All Tasks). The main area shows the calendar or the page you’re on.

  • What you can do here: Click Calendar anytime to return to your task calendar for this project.

  • Good to know: You must be inside a project first. If you’re on the team’s Projects list, open a project, then use Calendar in that project’s sidebar.

Go to Projects and pick a project

  • Good to know: The calendar is per project—each project has its own calendar showing your tasks for that project only.

Open a project to get to its calendar

Click a project name to open it

Click the project name (e.g. testsing) to open that project. From the project’s sidebar, click Calendar to see your tasks for that project on the calendar.

  • Good to know: Only tasks assigned to you in this project appear on the calendar—you won’t see other team members’ tasks here.

Switching between Week, Month, and Year

Choose Week, Month, or Year view

Week, Month, and Year view options

Use the Week, Month, and Year options in the calendar toolbar to change how much of the timeline you see. Week shows a few days in detail; Month shows the full month; Year shows the whole year.

Helpful details

  • Key areas on the screen: The toolbar above the calendar has Week, Month, and Year (and often a date or month picker). The calendar grid updates when you switch.

  • What you can do here: Click Week, Month, or Year to change the view. Use the date or month controls (e.g. arrows or March) to move to a different period.

  • Good to know: Your tasks stay the same—only the time range and level of detail change. You can move forward or backward in time from any view.

Month view

Month view selected

With Month selected, the calendar shows the full month so you can see your task distribution across weeks and days.

Helpful details

  • Key areas on the screen: The Month option is highlighted in the toolbar. The main area is a monthly grid with your tasks on their due dates.

  • What you can do here: Scan the month, then click a task to open its details, or use Week or Year to change the view.

  • Good to know: If you’ve connected Google Calendar, personal events can appear on the same grid (see “Connecting Google Calendar” below).

Year view

Year view selected

With Year selected, the calendar shows the full year so you can see when your tasks and events fall across months.

Helpful details

  • Key areas on the screen: The Year option is highlighted. The main area is a year-level view.

  • What you can do here: Get a high-level view of your schedule, then switch to Month or Week to see more detail for a specific period.

  • Good to know: Year view is useful for planning ahead; use Week or Month when you need to work with specific tasks or dates.

Managing what appears on the calendar

Open Manage Calendars

Manage Calendars in the calendar view

Use the month or date picker (e.g. March) and then Manage Calendars to control which calendars are shown—project tasks and, if connected, Google Calendar events.

Helpful details

  • Key areas on the screen: The calendar header has date/month navigation and a Manage Calendars control. Clicking it opens the calendar settings.

  • What you can do here: Open Manage Calendars to see Manage Google Calendars and toggles that show or hide project tasks and Google events.

  • Good to know: Project tasks (your assigned tasks in this project) can be toggled on or off. Google events only appear after you connect your Google account (see below).

Manage Calendars and Manage Google Calendars

Manage Calendars menu with Manage Google Calendars

Manage Calendars opens options for what appears on the calendar. Manage Google Calendars takes you to the screen where you connect Google and choose which Google calendars to show.

Helpful details

  • Key areas on the screen: The Manage Calendars menu or panel lists Manage Google Calendars and any toggles for project tasks and Google calendars.

  • What you can do here: Click Manage Google Calendars to connect your Google account (if you haven’t yet) or to turn specific Google calendars on or off.

  • Good to know: Your project tasks are always tied to the current project. Google Calendar is separate—it brings in your personal events so you can see them next to your work.

Turn project or Google calendars on or off

Toggle switches for calendars

On the Manage Google Calendars screen you’ll see a list of calendars (e.g. project tasks and, after connecting, your Google calendars). Use the switch next to each one to show or hide it on the main calendar.

Helpful details

  • Key areas on the screen: Each calendar has a label and a switch. When the switch is on, that calendar’s events or tasks appear on the calendar view.

  • What you can do here: Toggle each calendar on or off to control what you see. You can hide project tasks or specific Google calendars if you want a simpler view.

  • Good to know: Changes apply immediately. If you don’t see a calendar in the list, you may need to connect Google first (see “Connecting Google Calendar” below).

Connecting Google Calendar

The calendar can show your Google Calendar events next to your project tasks. That way you see your personal schedule (meetings, reminders) in one place with your assigned work. Connecting is optional and uses your own Google account.

When Google isn’t connected: Connect Google Calendar

Connect your Google Calendar to view your personal events

If Google Calendar isn’t connected yet, you’ll see a message like “Connect your Google Calendar to view your personal events” and a Connect Google Calendar button. Click it to start the connection.

Helpful details

  • Key areas on the screen: The message explains that connecting lets you view your personal events. The Connect Google Calendar button starts the process.

  • What you can do here: Click Connect Google Calendar to sign in with Google and allow Boardssey to read your calendar. You’ll be redirected to Google and then back to Boardssey.

  • Good to know: Only your own Google Calendar events are shown. The calendar in Boardssey still shows only your project tasks (not the team’s); adding Google just overlays your personal events.

Start the connection with Connect Google Calendar

Connect Google Calendar button

Click Connect Google Calendar to open Google’s sign-in and permission screen. You’ll sign in with your Google account and then choose Allow so Boardssey can display your calendar events.

Helpful details

  • Key areas on the screen: The Connect Google Calendar button is the main action. After you click it, you leave Boardssey briefly for Google’s sign-in.

  • What you can do here: Complete the Google sign-in and grant access. After that, you’ll return to Boardssey and your Google calendars will be available under Manage Google Calendars.

  • Good to know: Boardssey only reads your calendar to show events; it does not create or edit events in Google Calendar.

Sign in with Google and allow access

Sign in with Google

Google’s screen asks you to sign in. Choose Sign in with Google and pick the Google account you use for your personal calendar. On the next screen, click Allow so Boardssey can read your calendar events.

Helpful details

  • Key areas on the screen: This is Google’s sign-in and consent screen, not Boardssey. You may see Sign in with Google, account choices, and an Allow button.

  • What you can do here: Sign in with the correct Google account, then click Allow to grant read-only access to your calendar.

  • Good to know: If you have multiple Google accounts, use the one that has the calendar you want to see in Boardssey. You can revoke access later from your Google account settings if you change your mind.

After connecting: choose which Google calendars to show

Manage Google Calendars after connection with toggles

Once Google is connected, Manage Google Calendars shows your Google calendars with a switch for each. Turn the switch on for any calendar you want to see on the Boardssey calendar, and off for ones you want to hide.

Helpful details

  • Key areas on the screen: The list includes your project tasks and your Google calendars. Each row has a switch.

  • What you can do here: Toggle each calendar on or off. Only calendars with the switch on appear on the main calendar view.

  • Good to know: You can change these anytime via Manage CalendarsManage Google Calendars. Disconnecting or revoking access in Google will stop events from showing until you connect again.

Viewing tasks on the calendar

The calendar shows your assigned project tasks (and, if connected, your Google events) on their dates. Each block or label is a task or event. Click one to open its details.

Helpful details

  • Key areas on the screen: The calendar grid shows days or weeks. Tasks and events appear as blocks or labels (e.g. “Kagan Productions Meeting with Ori Kagan”). The sidebar may still show Projects and Calendar.

  • What you can do here: Scan your schedule, click a task or event to open it, and use Week, Month, or Year to change the view.

  • Good to know: Only your own tasks and your own Google events appear. You don’t see other team members’ tasks or calendars here.

Opening a task from the calendar

Task details opened from the calendar

Clicking a task on the calendar (e.g. Kagan Productions Meeting with Ori Kagan) opens its details in a panel or page. From there you can read the description, check the due date, or go to the full task.

Helpful details

  • Key areas on the screen: The task details show the task name and usually more info (description, due date, assignee). You may see a way to close the panel or navigate back to the calendar.

  • What you can do here: Read or edit the task, then close the panel to return to the calendar. Any changes you make (e.g. due date) will be reflected on the calendar when you refresh or switch views.

  • Good to know: The calendar only shows tasks assigned to you in this project. If you don’t see a task, check that you’re in the right project and that the task is assigned to you.

Tips & common questions

Why don’t I see my teammates’ tasks?
The Calendar is “My Calendar”—it’s filtered to the tasks assigned to you. To see everyone’s tasks, use All Tasks (list or board) from the same project.

Where does the calendar live?
Inside each project: open Projects → choose a project → Calendar in the sidebar. Each project has its own calendar with your tasks for that project.

Can I hide project tasks and only see Google events?
Yes. Open Manage CalendarsManage Google Calendars and turn the switch off for the project-tasks calendar. You’ll then see only the Google calendars you left on.

I connected Google but don’t see my events.
Open Manage Google Calendars and make sure the switch next to the Google calendar you want is on. If you have several Google calendars, only the ones with the switch on are shown.

How do I disconnect Google Calendar?
You can revoke access in your Google account settings (Google Account → Security → Third-party access). After that, Boardssey will no longer show your Google events until you connect again.
