A sell sheet is a one-page pitch document for a game, its hook, key art, mechanics, player count, duration, and price. You build it from a template inside Boardssey and share it as a PDF or live link.
This page covers the Sell Sheets tab on a game page: viewing your existing sell sheets, creating new ones, changing their status, and opening one in the editor. The editor itself has its own walkthrough, see Sell sheet editor.
What this page helps you do
Find every sell sheet for a specific game.
Create a new sell sheet from a template.
Change a sell sheet's status (Draft β Ready to share).
Edit, duplicate, or delete an existing sell sheet.
Before you start
Sell Sheet Designer is on the Pathfinder and Oracle plans. See Plans and pricing.
Sell sheets live per game, not at the team level, each game has its own Sell Sheets tab with its own list.
1. Open the Sell Sheets tab
In the sidebar, click Games and pick the game you're pitching. On the game page, switch to the Sell Sheets tab (alongside Game Info, Media, Rules, Components, etc.).
You'll see every sell sheet you've created for this game. If this is your first one, the list is empty and shows a Design new sell sheet button.
2. Create a new sell sheet
Click Design new sell sheet. A template picker opens.
Pick a template that fits the audience: a publisher pitch, a playtester invite, a convention-booth handout, etc. Each template is a starting layout you'll customize. Click Start designing.
The sell sheet editor opens with the template populated using your game's data (title, hook, mechanics, art). Edit text, swap images, and adjust layout to taste, see Sell sheet editor for the editor walkthrough.
You can have multiple sell sheets per game. Many designers keep one for publishers, one for retailers, and one for playtesters/community.
3. Change a sell sheet's status
Each sell sheet has a status (Draft, Ready to share, etc.) so your team can see which are works-in-progress and which are ready to send out.
In the sell sheets list, open the β― menu on a sell sheet and pick Mark as β [status]. The new status appears immediately on the card.
Status doesn't change what the sell sheet looks like, it's an internal label.
4. Edit, duplicate, or delete
From the same β― menu:
Edit (or Open in editor), opens this sell sheet in the editor to change its design.
Edit details: change just the name and metadata, not the visual design. Useful for a quick rename.
Duplicate: create a copy. Useful if you want a "publisher version" and a "playtester version" with similar layouts.
Delete: permanently remove this sell sheet (the game itself is unaffected).
Tips & common questions
Why is the Sell Sheets tab missing on my game? You're probably on the Adventurer plan. Sell Sheet Designer is on Pathfinder and Oracle, see Plans and pricing to upgrade.
Can I share a sell sheet with a publisher who doesn't have a Boardssey account? Yes. Sell sheets are sharable as PDFs or via a public link from the editor, see Sell sheet editor. Publishers don't need an account to view.
Can I have two sell sheets in the editor at the same time? Open them in separate browser tabs. The editor handles each independently.
What happens to a sell sheet if I update the game's info? Templates pull live data from the game. If you update the game's hook, mechanics, or art, your existing sell sheets continue showing what was there when you last edited them, open the sell sheet and re-pull or edit the fields manually.
Can I export a sell sheet to PNG instead of PDF? PDF is the default export. PNG export is on the roadmap.
