Delete your personal account
Permanently delete your Boardssey account with an emailed code, and understand that teams you own are deleted with it.
Last reviewed October 11, 2026
Deleting your personal account removes your sign-in, your profile and your place in every team. It also deletes every team you are the Primary Owner of. This page is for anyone leaving Boardssey for good.
What this page helps you do
- Protect teams you own before you delete.
- Delete your account with the emailed confirmation code.
- Know what disappears and what stays.
You'll start from Settings > My Account > Danger Zone.
Before you start
- Teams you own are deleted with your account, together with their games, playtests, projects and subscriptions. The confirmation says so: "This will delete your account and the accounts you own. Furthermore, we will immediately cancel any active subscriptions."
- To keep a team alive, transfer ownership to another member first. See Transfer team ownership.
- You need access to your email inbox for the confirmation code.
Hand over the teams you want to keep
For every team where you are the Primary Owner, either transfer ownership to someone who stays, or accept that the team goes with you.
Helpful details
- Key areas: Settings > Team Roles: the Primary Owner badge shows which teams are yours.
- What you can do: transfer the badge from the member's ⋯ menu with Transfer Ownership.
- Good to know: teams where you are only an Admin, Member or Collaborator are not affected; you simply leave them.
Delete your account
- Open your profile menu at the bottom of the sidebar and choose Settings. Stay on the My Account tab.
- Scroll to the Danger Zone and click Delete your Account.
- Click Send Verification Code, type the 6-digit code from your email and click Verify Code.
- Read the warning and click Delete your Account.
Helpful details
- Key areas: the Danger Zone at the bottom of My Account.
- What you can do: if you have no teams at all, the same Delete your Account option is on the teams page (
/home/teams), under Sign out. - Good to know: no password or authenticator code is asked; the emailed code is the check.
What is removed and what stays
Removed: your sign-in methods (email and password, Google, Discord, MFA factors), your profile and preferences, your memberships, and every team you owned with its subscription.
Stays: the content of teams you did not own. Your comments and subtasks there remain, shown as Former member.
Helpful details
- Key areas: the teams you were invited to continue without you.
- What you can do: sign up again later with the same email, as a brand-new account. Nothing carries over.
- Good to know: external playtesters using feedback forms of a team that still exists notice nothing.
Tips & common questions
Can I get my account back? No. Deletion is permanent.
I am a Member in someone else's team. Does deleting hurt them? No. You disappear from their members list; the team and your past contributions stay.
Does deleting my account cancel a team's subscription? Only for teams you own, which are deleted with you. A team you transferred keeps its subscription and card.
Can I export my data first? There is no one-click export. Download media, sell sheets and component exports, and copy rules and notes by hand.
I cannot find the Delete your Account button.
It is at the bottom of Settings > My Account, or on the /home/teams page when you have no teams.
