Inviting people is how a Boardssey team becomes a team. Every plan has unlimited users, so you can bring in co-designers, artists and playtest organizers without changing your bill. This page is for Admins who manage the team's members.
What this page helps you do
- Invite one or several people, each with their own role.
- Follow up on invites that were not accepted yet.
- Change someone's role later.
- Remove a member, or leave a team yourself.
You'll start from Settings > Team Roles.
Before you start
- You need to be an Admin (or the Primary Owner). Members and Collaborators do not see the Team Roles tab.
- The team needs an active plan or trial; invitations are blocked otherwise.
- For someone who should see one or two games only, pick Collaborator. See Set yourself up for success: collaborator permissions.
Open the Team Roles tab
Open your profile menu at the bottom of the sidebar, choose Settings, then the Team Roles tab.
Helpful details
- Key areas: the card Invite Your Team and Assemble Your Design Guild lists current members with their role; the card Sent Invites lists invitations that are still open.
- What you can do: search members by name or email, and search invitations.
- Good to know: the Primary Owner shows a Primary Owner badge, and your own row says You.
Send an invite
- Click Invite Team.
- In the dialog Invite Team Roles to Your Design Circle, type the person's email and pick a role.
- Click Add another one for each extra person; each row has its own email and role.
- Click Send Invites.
Helpful details
- Key areas: the role list offers every role at or below your own, so an Admin can invite Admins, Members and Collaborators.
- What you can do: invite several people with different roles in one go.
- Good to know: the dialog refuses your own email ("Hey, that's your email!") and a duplicate address. Each invite link expires after 7 days.
While an invite is pending
Each row in Sent Invites shows the email, the role, Expires at and a Status (Pending, Active or Expired).
Helpful details
- Key areas: the ⋯ menu at the end of each invite row.
- What you can do: Update Role to change the role before they join, Renew Invitation to extend an invite that is expiring or expired, Remove Invitation to cancel it.
- Good to know: an invitee who cannot find the email should check spam; renew the invitation to send a fresh link.
When they accept
The invitee opens the link, signs in or creates an account, and sees Accept Invitation to join {team}. After Join Team they appear in the members list with the role you picked and can start working.
Helpful details
- Key areas: the accept page also offers Sign in with a different account if they opened it while signed in as someone else.
- What you can do: for a Collaborator, open each game they should see and grant them access on the Permissions tab.
- Good to know: point new people to Welcome to Boardssey.
Change a role or remove someone
In the members list, open the ⋯ menu at the end of a row.
Helpful details
- Key areas: Update Role opens the dialog Update Member's Role; Remove from Account asks you to confirm with Remove User from Team.
- What you can do: change or remove members below your own level. The Primary Owner can change or remove anyone and also sees Transfer Ownership here.
- Good to know: a removed member loses access right away. Everything they created stays with the team.
Leave a team yourself
Admins can leave from Settings > Team Account > Danger Zone > Leave Team: type LEAVE and confirm.
Helpful details
- Key areas: the Danger Zone at the bottom of the Team Account tab.
- What you can do: leave a team you no longer work with; you will need a new invite to come back.
- Good to know: the Primary Owner has Delete Team there instead, and must transfer ownership before leaving. Members and Collaborators do not see the Team Account tab, so an Admin removes them.

Can the same person be in two teams? Yes, with a different role in each if you like.
What if someone never accepts? The link expires after 7 days. Use Renew Invitation when they are ready, or Remove Invitation to drop it.
Can I see when someone last signed in? Not in the members list today.
