A catalog is more than a grid of games. The Pages tab lets you add pages such as About us, Contact or Submissions, plus menu links to your website, shop or email address. Pages show in the catalog's menu beside your games.

What this page helps you do

  • Add a page from a template or start blank.
  • Add a menu link to another website or an email address.
  • Set a page's address, search description and menu options.
  • Turn on a contact form so visitors can write to you.
  • Reorder, preview and delete pages.

You'll start from Catalog > Pages.

Before you start

  • Only Admins can add or change pages. Members see the list read-only with the note "Only team admins can change the catalog's pages."
  • A catalog can hold up to 30 pages and links together.
  • Each catalog has its own pages. A new catalog starts with a copy of the main catalog's pages.

Add a page

In the sidebar, click Catalog, open the Pages tab and click Add. Under New page, pick Blank page, About us, Contact or Submissions. The page is created and opens on the right, ready to edit.

Helpful details

  • Key areas: About us starts with "Who we are" and "Our story" headings; Contact with a short invitation and a "Find us" section; Submissions with "What we look for" and "How to submit" for designers who want to pitch to you.
  • What you can do: replace the template text with your own in Content, or lay the page out with blocks in the page designer. See Lay out a catalog page with blocks.
  • Good to know: a new page is a draft until you turn on Published, so you can write it in peace.

Add a menu link

Click Add, then Menu link ("To your website, a shop or an email address"). Give it a Label and a Link to address that starts with https:// or mailto:.

Helpful details

  • Key areas: Open in a new tab keeps your catalog open when a visitor follows the link. Published shows the link in the menu.
  • What you can do: link to your online shop, your Kickstarter page, your social media or mailto:hello@yourstudio.com.
  • Good to know: a link is a menu entry only; it has no content of its own.

Edit a page's settings

Select a page in the list to open its form.

Helpful details

  • Key areas: Title; Address (lowercase letters, numbers and dashes, like about-us; the page lives at bdsy.cc/your-address/p/about-us); Content; Search description ("What search engines and link previews show under the title"); Published ("Visitors can open the page. Drafts are only visible here."); Show in the menu ("Off keeps the page reachable by its address only").
  • What you can do: click Save to apply, View page to open it on the live catalog, Delete to remove it. Deleting asks you to confirm: "{title} leaves the catalog and its menu. This cannot be undone."
  • Good to know: two pages cannot share an address. The list marks each page Published or Draft, with an icon when it is not in the menu.

Turn on a contact form

On a page's form, turn on Contact form ("Visitors can write to you from the end of this page") and enter the address in Send messages to. Click Save.

Helpful details

  • Key areas: visitors get a Send us a message form with Name, Email, Company (optional) and Message at the end of the page.
  • What you can do: put the form on your Contact page, your Submissions page, or both.
  • Good to know: each message is emailed to the address you set, with replies going to the sender, and every message is also kept in the Messages tab. See Receive messages from your catalog.

Order the menu

Pages and links show in the catalog's menu in the order of the list. Drag an entry by its handle to move it. The order saves when you drop it.

Helpful details

  • Key areas: the menu on the public catalog starts with Games, then your pages and links in this order.
  • What you can do: put Contact last and About us first, the way visitors expect.
  • Good to know: a page with Show in the menu off keeps its place in the list but is not in the menu.

Tips & common questions

I wrote a page but visitors cannot find it. Check that Published is on. Then check Show in the menu, or share the page's address directly.

Can I write the page in another language? Yes, the content is yours. If you run several catalogs in different languages, each catalog has its own pages, so write each in its language. See Run several catalogs.

What does the Search description do? Search engines and link previews (for example when you paste the address in a chat) show it under the page title. Keep it to one or two sentences.

Can I put my games on a page? Yes, with the page designer: the Games and Featured game blocks show the games of this catalog. See Lay out a catalog page with blocks.
