Your catalog: settings at a glance
Publish your public catalog, find your way around its seven settings tabs, and learn who on your team can change what.
Last reviewed October 11, 2026
Your catalog is a public website Boardssey builds from the games you choose to share. Publishers, retailers, reviewers and players can browse it at an address like bdsy.cc/your-studio without a Boardssey account. This article shows you where everything lives so you know which article to read next.
What this page helps you do
- Publish your catalog for the first time.
- Find the seven settings tabs and what each one is for.
- Know your public addresses (catalog, game pages, content pages).
- Learn who on your team can change which settings.
You'll start from the Catalog page: in the sidebar, click Catalog.
Before you start
- The catalog is included on every plan. It stays online only while your subscription is active or in its free trial.
- You need to be an Admin or a Member of the team. Collaborators see a notice that catalog settings are member-only.
- Only games that are not archived can be listed. Archive a game and it leaves the catalog.
Publish your catalog
In the sidebar, click Catalog. Until the catalog is published, the page shows "Ready to share your catalog with publishers and partners?" with a short video. Click Enable Catalog Sharing in the top right corner of the page. The settings tabs appear and your catalog is live.
Helpful details
- Key areas: the button in the page header switches between Enable Catalog Sharing and Disable Catalog Sharing. It always acts on the catalog you have selected.
- What you can do: disable the catalog at any time. Its address stops answering, your settings and games stay as they were, and you can enable it again later.
- Good to know: your main catalog starts at an address built from your team's name. Change it in the Shared Games tab under Your Catalog Link before you share the link widely. See Choose and order the games in a catalog.
Find your way around the tabs
Once the catalog is published, seven tabs sit under the page header. On a phone the row scrolls sideways.
Helpful details
- Key areas: Shared Games (which games show, their order, prices, your link and embed code), Translations (the catalog's language and translated game texts), Design (logo, colors, fonts, layout), Pages (About us, Contact, Submissions and menu links), Messages (what visitors sent through your contact form, with an unread count on the tab), Stats (visits, views, downloads), Advanced (analytics IDs and custom code).
- What you can do: jump to a tab from a link. A notification in the bell about a new message opens the Messages tab directly, and the page designer's Back button returns you to Pages.
- Good to know: when your team has more than one catalog, a Catalog picker sits above the tabs and the tabs show the settings of the catalog you pick. See Run several catalogs.
Know your public addresses
Your catalog lives on the short domain bdsy.cc, never on the app's own address.
Helpful details
- Key areas: the catalog opens at
bdsy.cc/your-address. Each game has its own page atbdsy.cc/your-address/game-name. Content pages such as About us live underbdsy.cc/your-address/p/about-us. - What you can do: copy the address from Shared Games > Your Catalog Link with Copy, or open it with Open in New Tab. The Embed Code card on the same tab gives you code to show the catalog inside your own website.
- Good to know: the public pages are cached so they load fast for every visitor. When you save a change in the settings, the cache is cleared and the new version shows right away.
Add a game from its own page
You do not have to open the Catalog page to share a game. On any game page, the top bar has an Add to Catalog button. Click it and the game joins your main catalog; the button then reads Added to Catalog. Click again to take it out.
Helpful details
- Key areas: the button sits in the game page's top bar, next to Edit game.
- What you can do: use it as a quick on/off switch while you work on a game.
- Good to know: the button is grayed out with a tooltip until your main catalog is published, and it only affects the main catalog. Collaborators see "Sharing is not allowed for collaborators". For order, prices, the New badge or other catalogs, use the Shared Games tab.
Who can change what
Catalog settings follow your team roles. See Roles explained for the roles themselves.
Helpful details
- Key areas: Members and Admins can publish or disable a catalog, change its address, upload the logo, write the sidebar text, pick the games, set prices and write translations. Admins alone can change the theme in Design, the pages and the page designer, the analytics IDs and custom code in Advanced, delete messages, and create or delete extra catalogs.
- What you can do: when a section is admin-only you still see it, read-only, with a note such as "Only team admins can change the theme."
- Good to know: Collaborators never see the catalog settings, cannot use Add to Catalog and do not get the bell notification for new messages.
Tips & common questions
Is my catalog online while I'm on the free trial? Yes. It goes offline only if the trial ends without a subscription or the subscription is cancelled. Your settings are kept, so it comes back when you subscribe again.
Can I password-protect the whole catalog? No. You can protect individual files instead: open the file in the game's Media tab, click Edit, and turn on Password Protect (Catalog). Visitors then need the password to view or download that file. See Game media.
A game shows on my catalog but its details look old. The public pages update when you save. If a visitor still sees an older version, ask them to reload the page.
Where do the games' descriptions and images come from? From the game itself: the Edit game page for texts and specs, and the Media tab for images, videos and files marked Public Sharing. Internal notes, playtests and outreach never appear.
Can I show a game publicly but keep its rulebook private? Yes. Only media marked Public Sharing appears on the catalog, so leave the rulebook private or protect it with a password.
