What's New - April 2026

Here's everything new in Boardssey in April

Games

Game List

  • Expansion support: You can now mark any game as an expansion and link it to a parent game. When creating or editing a game, a new "Parent Game" field lets you search and select the base game it belongs to. Expansions are then displayed in a dedicated Expansions tab on the parent game's page.

  • Expansions tab on game details: Game pages now show a dedicated Expansions tab listing all linked expansions, making it easy to see the full scope of a game family at a glance.

  • Expansion info on public profiles: Your public catalog now surfaces expansion relationships: visitors can see which games are expansions of which, with parent game titles shown in the shared games list.

  • Collaborator access fixed: A bug that incorrectly blocked collaborators from accessing games they had been specifically granted access to has been resolved.

Game Details

  • Parent game display: The game header now shows the parent game title when viewing an expansion, so the relationship is always visible.

Projects

Tasks

  • Check off tasks inline: Every task row in the task list now has a checkbox. Click it to mark the task complete without opening the task detail panel. A fast way to work through your action items.

  • Auto-save task edits: Changes you make in the task detail panel (name, description, dates, priority, etc.) are now saved automatically. You no longer need to click a Save button, just edit and move on.

  • Overdue detection fixed: A date comparison bug that caused some tasks to be incorrectly flagged as overdue (or missed when they truly were) has been corrected.

  • Urgent priority: Tasks can now be set to "Urgent" priority, displayed in a distinct color so the most critical work is impossible to miss.

Calendar

  • Week starts on Monday: The project calendar now starts the week on Monday, matching standard work-week conventions.

Tags

  • Edit and delete tags: You can now rename or remove tags directly from the tag filter dropdown in Projects. No more hunting through settings to clean up tag names.

  • Group tasks by tag: A new "Grouped by Tags" view mode lets you see all your tasks organized by their tags, making it easy to spot patterns across a project.

  • Tags are workspace-wide: Tags are no longer scoped per board. They now belong to your whole workspace (account), so the same tag works consistently across all your projects.

Playtests

  • Edit playtester details: You can now update a playtester's name and email directly from the Playtesters tab. Previously, playtesters could only be added or removed.

  • Custom fields for playtest sessions: Playtests now support custom fields. Add your own data points to capture exactly the information that matters for your design process.

  • Aggregated feedback view: A new Aggregated Feedback tab on a game's playtest page compiles and summarizes responses across all sessions, giving you a rolled-up view of what playtesters are saying.

  • Automatic playtester tracking: When someone submits a public feedback form for your playtest, they are now automatically added to your Playtesters list (or their record is updated if they've played before).

Dashboard

  • Tasks widget loads faster: The "Your action items" panel on the Dashboard now uses pagination and smarter sorting, so it loads quickly even when you have many open tasks.

  • Urgent tasks highlighted: The Dashboard tasks widget now reflects the new Urgent priority level with its own color, so the most pressing items stand out at a glance.

Tools

  • Size Scale Reference tool: A new tool under Tools lets you generate a visual showing how big your game box or components are compared to a person. Useful for sell sheets, presentations, or just sanity-checking component sizing before production. Available in all supported languages.

App-wide

  • Calendar week start: Calendars across the app (including date pickers) now consistently start weeks on Monday.
