The press kit download
What the Press kit button on a catalog game page bundles into one ZIP, which files qualify, and how to control what goes in.
Last reviewed October 11, 2026
Reviewers, journalists and retailers ask for the same things: the cover, a few images, the sell sheet and the facts. The Press kit button on a game's catalog page hands them all of it in one ZIP file, built from the files you already made public.
What this page helps you do
- Understand what the press kit contains.
- Make the button appear on a game page.
- Decide what goes in and what stays out.
You'll start from the game's Media tab in Boardssey, and check the result on the game's page on your catalog.
Before you start
- The press kit is built from media marked Public Sharing and not password-protected. See Game media.
- The button is shown only when at least one image or document qualifies. There is no setting to turn the press kit off; keep files private to keep them out.
What the ZIP contains
On a game page of your catalog, the Press kit button ("Cover, images, sell sheet and fact sheet in one ZIP file") prepares a ZIP named after the game.
Helpful details
- Key areas: an Images folder with the game's cover and its public images, a Documents folder with its public documents, and a Fact sheet with the game's details: Players, Playing time, Age, Genre, Mechanisms, Designers, Artists, Price, Highlights (your hooks), About the game (the description), the game page's address and, for an expansion, the game it expands.
- What you can do: nothing extra. The kit offers nothing the game page does not already offer one file at a time; it just saves the visitor twenty clicks.
- Good to know: a file that could not be fetched while the ZIP was built is listed under Links with its address, so the visitor can still download it.
Which files qualify
The press kit picks files by their type in the game's Media tab.
Helpful details
- Key areas: images of type Logo, Front Cover, Back Cover, 3D Render, Game Setup, Game in Play, Component and Miscellaneous; documents of type Sell Sheet, Specs Sheet, Rulebook, Quick Reference and Player Aid.
- What you can do: set the right type when you upload or edit a file so it lands in the kit.
- Good to know: Print & Play files, videos and password-protected files are always left out. Each file goes in once, even if it is used as the cover too.
Control what goes in
Open the game in Boardssey and go to the Media tab. For each file, click Edit: Public Sharing on puts it on the catalog and in the kit; Password Protect (Catalog) keeps it on the catalog page behind a password but out of the kit.
Helpful details
- Key areas: the file's Type decides whether it is an image or a document in the kit; the Language decides which catalogs show it.
- What you can do: share a low-resolution print and play on the page and a password-protected rulebook for publishers only, while the press kit carries the cover, renders and sell sheet.
- Good to know: the fact sheet is built from the game's own fields on the Edit game page. Hide prices or hooks in Design > Game cards and they still appear in the fact sheet, because the fact sheet follows the game, not the card.
Tips & common questions
The Press kit button is missing on my game. No image or document of a qualifying type is public. Mark at least the front cover Public Sharing with type Front Cover.
Does a press kit download count in my stats? Yes, as a download on that game in the Stats tab. See See how visitors use your catalog.
Can I add a text file with my own press release? Not as a separate file today. Put the release text in the game's long description; it appears in the fact sheet under About the game.
Is the press kit translated? The fact sheet's labels follow the catalog's language, and the texts use the catalog's translations when you wrote them. See Translate a catalog.
