Choose and order the games in a catalog

Pick which games a catalog shows, mark new releases, set the order and a per-catalog price, and get your link and embed code.

Last reviewed October 11, 2026

The Shared Games tab decides what visitors see first: which games are in the catalog, which ones carry a New badge, the order they appear in and the price shown for each. It also holds your public link and the code to embed the catalog on your own site.

What this page helps you do

  • Add a game to a catalog or take it out.
  • Mark new releases so they show first with a New badge.
  • Drag games into the order you want, or sort them A to Z.
  • Show a price per catalog, or the game's MSRP.
  • Copy your catalog link and the embed code.

You'll start from Catalog > Shared Games.

Before you start

  • You need to be a Member or an Admin. Collaborators cannot change the catalog.
  • The catalog has to be published for the tabs to show. See Your catalog: settings at a glance.
  • Archived games are not listed. Unarchive a game first if you want it in the catalog.

Add a game to the catalog

In the sidebar, click Catalog, then open the Shared Games tab. The Games in this catalog card lists every game of your team in three groups. Find the game under Not in this catalog and turn on its In catalog switch. It moves up into the Games group and is live on your catalog right away.

Helpful details

  • Key areas: the three groups are New ("Shown first, with a New badge"), Games ("Shown after the new games") and Not in this catalog ("Turn on In catalog to show a game"). Use Search games... above the list when you have many games.
  • What you can do: turn In catalog off to take a game out. Nothing is deleted; the game just leaves the public page.
  • Good to know: on a game's own page the Add to Catalog button does the same thing for your main catalog only. Expansions show their parent game under the title.

Mark a game as new

Each game in the catalog has a New toggle. Turn it on and the game moves into the New group at the top of the catalog, with a New badge on its cover and a highlighted card.

Helpful details

  • Key areas: the New toggle sits next to the In catalog switch on each row.
  • What you can do: style the badge, ring and card background in Design > New games. See Design your catalog.
  • Good to know: new games always come before the others, whatever order you drag them into.

Set the order

Drag a game by its handle to move it within its group. The order saves as soon as you drop it. To sort alphabetically, click Reorder A-Z above the list.

Helpful details

  • Key areas: the drag handle is at the left of each row in the New and Games groups.
  • What you can do: keep your flagship games at the top, or sort everything A to Z in one click.
  • Good to know: Reorder A-Z sorts each group separately, so new games stay first.

Show a price

Each game in the catalog shows a price when it has one. By default that is the game's MSRP from the Edit game page. To show a different price in this catalog, click Add price on the row (or the current price, shown as "{price} (MSRP)"). In the Catalog price dialog, enter a Price and pick a Currency, then click Save.

Helpful details

  • Key areas: Price and Currency fields, and the Use the game's MSRP button to go back to the game's own price.
  • What you can do: give the same game a different price in each catalog, for example in euros for a European catalog. See Run several catalogs.
  • Good to know: prices go from 0 to 9999.99. Admins can hide prices altogether in Design > Game cards > Price (MSRP).

Copy your catalog link

Below the games, the Your Catalog Link card shows the public address of this catalog, such as bdsy.cc/your-studio.

Helpful details

  • Key areas: Edit to change the address, Copy to copy it to your clipboard, Open in New Tab to see the live catalog.
  • What you can do: choose an address with lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens. It has to be unique across all Boardssey catalogs, and a few reserved words are refused.
  • Good to know: changing the address breaks any link you shared before, so pick it before you send the catalog around.

Embed the catalog on your website

The Embed Code card gives you two snippets. Paste the Iframe Code where you want the catalog to appear on your site, and the JavaScript Code in the page's head or before the closing body tag.

Helpful details

  • Key areas: Copy Iframe and Copy Script buttons.
  • What you can do: show your catalog inside your own site. The iframe takes the full width of the spot you put it in, on phones and computers alike.
  • Good to know: the script makes the embedded catalog grow and shrink to fit its games, so visitors never see a scrollbar inside it or an empty gap under it.

What visitors see for each game

A game page on the catalog shows the texts and specs from the game: name, short and long description, selling points (your three hooks), genre, mechanisms, players, play time, minimum age, complexity out of 5, components, price, where the game is already licensed (or "Available Worldwide"), designer and artist. Below that come the public media and download buttons.

Helpful details

  • Key areas: the download buttons come from files in the game's Media tab that are marked Public Sharing: Download Rulebook, Download Sell Sheet, Download Print & Play, Watch Pitch Video, plus BGG Entry when the game has a BGG link and Press kit when the game has public images or documents.
  • What you can do: hide selling points, age, complexity, price or licensing for the whole catalog in Design > Game cards.
  • Good to know: the game's development status, notes, playtests and outreach never appear. The components shown are the active rows of the game's first component list.

Tips & common questions

I turned on In catalog but the game is not on the public page. Check that the catalog is published (the header button reads Disable Catalog Sharing when it is) and reload the public page.

Why is the Add to Catalog button on my game page grayed out? Your main catalog is not published yet, or you are a Collaborator. Publish the catalog from the Catalog page first.

Can I put a game in one catalog but not another? Yes. Each catalog has its own Shared Games tab. Pick the catalog in the Catalog picker above the tabs, then set its games.

Does the catalog show my game's status? No. Visitors never see Idea, Playtesting, Published or any other status.

How do I show the rulebook on the catalog? In the game's Media tab, add the file with type Rulebook and turn on Public Sharing. The Download Rulebook button appears on the game page. See Game media.
