Sell sheets
Start a sell sheet from a template on the Sell Sheets page or a game's Sell Sheets tab, then manage its name, status and files.

A sell sheet is the one-page pitch you hand a publisher: the hook, the key art, players, time, age and price. Boardssey's Sell Sheet Designer starts you from a template filled with your game's data and exports a print-ready file. This article covers where sell sheets live and how to manage them; the editor has its own walkthrough.
What this page helps you do
- Start a sell sheet from a template, for one game or for no game in particular.
- Find every sell sheet of the team, or of one game.
- Rename a sell sheet and set its status.
- Open a sell sheet in the editor or delete it.
You'll start from the Sell Sheets page in the sidebar, or from a game's Sell Sheets tab.
Before you start
- The Sell Sheet Designer comes with the Pathfinder and Oracle plans. On Adventurer the Sell Sheets page shows what the designer does with an Upgrade to Pathfinder button. See Plans and pricing.
- Collaborators cannot use the designer on any plan; they see "Sell Sheet Designer Access Restricted".
- During a free trial you can design, but downloads are JPEG only, at a lower resolution and with a watermark.
Start a sell sheet from the Sell Sheets page
In the sidebar, click Sell Sheets. The New Sell Sheet tab opens on Choose a Template. Pick a template, click Start Designing, choose a game in the Selected Game dialog (or No Specific Game) and click Create Sell Sheet. The editor opens with the template filled in.
Helpful details
- Key areas: Filter by Category (All, Basic, Modern, Showcase or Dashboard Templates), Search Templates, and the Start with a Blank Page card for a design from scratch. Each template card lists what it is Prefilled with.
- What you can do: choose a game to prefill the title, hooks, specs and cover. Choose No Specific Game for a generic sheet or a studio flyer.
- Good to know: a sheet is not saved until you save it in the editor. See Sell sheet editor walkthrough.
Start a sell sheet from a game
Open the game, switch to the Sell Sheets tab and click Create New Sell Sheet (or Design Your First Sell Sheet when the list is empty). Pick a template and click Start Designing; the game is already chosen.
Helpful details
- Key areas: the tab lists this game's sheets with Sell Sheet, Description, Status, Version, Size and Last Updated.
- What you can do: keep several sheets per game: one for publishers, one for retailers, one for a convention.
- Good to know: the tab shows on every plan, but opening the editor needs Pathfinder or Oracle.
Find every sell sheet
On the Sell Sheets page, open the All Sell Sheets tab.
Helpful details
- Key areas: Search Sell Sheets..., Filter by Game and Filter by Status above a table with Sell Sheet, Game, Status, Version, Size and Last Updated.
- What you can do: find the published sheet of a game in two clicks, or list every draft left behind.
- Good to know: sheets made with No Specific Game show No Game in the Game column.
Rename, describe and set the status
In either table, open the ⋮ menu on a sheet.
Helpful details
- Key areas: Open in Editor, Edit Details (the Edit Sell Sheet dialog with Sell Sheet Name, Description and Status, saved with Update Sell Sheet), Mark as (Draft, Published or Archived) and Delete.
- What you can do: use the status as a label for your team: Draft while you work, Published when it is the version you send, Archived for old ones you keep.
- Good to know: the status does not change the file and does not share anything. Sell sheets are never public on their own; to show one on your catalog, upload the exported PDF to the game's Media tab with type Sell Sheet and turn on Public Sharing. See Choose and order the games in a catalog.
Delete a sell sheet
In the ⋮ menu, click Delete, then confirm with Delete Sell Sheet.
Helpful details
- Key areas: the dialog warns "This action cannot be undone."
- What you can do: export a PDF or JSON copy from the editor first if you might want it back. See Sell sheet editor walkthrough.
- Good to know: deleting a sheet leaves the game untouched.
Tips & common questions
Why does the Sell Sheets page show an upgrade screen? You are on Adventurer, or you are a Collaborator. The designer needs Pathfinder or Oracle and a Member or Admin role.
Can I send a sell sheet to a publisher without a Boardssey account? Yes: download it as a PDF from the editor and attach it to your email. There is no public link for a sell sheet.
Does a sell sheet update when I change the game? No. The template is filled when you create the sheet. After that, the texts belong to the sheet; edit them in the editor.
Can I duplicate a sell sheet? There is no duplicate command in the list. In the editor, use Save As New to save the open design as a second sheet.
Can I export as PNG instead of PDF? Yes. The editor's Download button offers PDF, PNG, JPEG and more.
