Plans and pricing

The three Boardssey plans, what each one includes, what they cost, and how to pick the right one for your team.

Last reviewed October 11, 2026

Boardssey has three plans, Adventurer, Pathfinder and Oracle, and every one of them starts with a 14-day free trial. This page is for anyone choosing a plan for a new team or wondering whether to change plans.

What this page helps you do

  • See what each plan includes, feature by feature.
  • Pick the plan that fits how many games and projects you run.
  • Understand what happens when you reach a plan limit.
  • Find the two partner programs that give you a plan for free.

You'll start from the plan cards you see when you create a team, or from your team's Billing page.

Compare the plans

Every plan includes unlimited team members, unlimited playtests, your online games portfolio (the Catalog), game version tracking and the Game Dev Tools (Print & Play Layout, TTS Deck Editor, Variables Distribution and the rest of the Tools page).

Helpful details

  • Key areas: the plan cards show the same list, with the features you would not get struck through. Pathfinder carries the Most popular badge.
  • What you can do: pay monthly or yearly with the toggle above the cards. A year costs the same as ten months.
  • Good to know: Component Designer, Virtual Table and 3D Mockups are rolling out to teams in beta, so a Pathfinder or Oracle team may see them appear a little later. When 3D Mockups is on for your team, the older Digital Mockups tool leaves the Tools page.

Adventurer: for your first games

Adventurer is for solo designers and hobbyists testing their first ideas. You get up to 5 games and 10 projects, unlimited playtests, the Catalog, version tracking and every tool on the Tools page.

Helpful details

  • Key areas: Games, Projects, Playtests, Catalog, Tools, Contacts.
  • What you can do: organize your designs, log playtests and share a public portfolio.
  • Good to know: Adventurer has no Whiteboard, Sell Sheet Designer, Component Designer, 3D Mockups or Virtual Table. Those pages show an upgrade screen instead.

Pathfinder: for designers who pitch and prototype

Pathfinder is for active creators who prototype, pitch and collaborate. It raises the limits to 20 games and 40 projects and unlocks the visual tools: Whiteboard, Sell Sheet Designer, Component Designer, 3D Mockups and the Virtual Table.

Helpful details

  • Key areas: everything in Adventurer plus Whiteboard, Sell Sheets, Prototypes (Components and Virtual Table) and 3D Mockups in the sidebar.
  • What you can do: sketch with your team, design cards and boxes, build a digital prototype and play it online.
  • Good to know: the Virtual Table's AI automations, Team Chat and Multiple Catalogs stay Oracle-only.

Oracle: for studios and publishers

Oracle is for studios, publishers and teams managing many games. Games and projects are unlimited, and you get Team Chat with voice and video rooms, AI automations on the Virtual Table, and more than one Catalog.

Helpful details

  • Key areas: Team Chat in the sidebar, the Automations panel on the Virtual Table, and the Catalog settings for extra catalogs.
  • What you can do: run a whole studio in one workspace without counting games or projects.
  • Good to know: Oracle is the only plan with Team Chat. See Team Chat.

Plan limits

When your team reaches its game limit, the New game button on the Games page is disabled and a tooltip reads "You've reached your plan limit! Upgrade to continue adding games." Archived games still count toward the limit; only deleting a game frees a slot.

Helpful details

  • Key areas: the Games page and the Projects page.
  • What you can do: upgrade from the Billing page, or delete games you no longer need.
  • Good to know: nothing stops you from downgrading to a smaller plan while you are over its limit. Your games stay, you just cannot create new ones until you are under the limit again.

Free trial, payment and currency

Each paid plan starts with a 14-day free trial. You enter a card at checkout and the first charge comes when the trial ends. Prices show in the currency of the country you browse from (13 currencies), and in USD everywhere else.

Helpful details

  • Key areas: the plan cards, then the Stripe checkout page.
  • What you can do: cancel during the trial from the Billing Portal and pay nothing. See Start your 14-day free trial.
  • Good to know: a team without a plan cannot open its pages; every page sends you to Billing until a plan is chosen.

Partner programs

Two partner programs give a team its plan without a card:

Both are claimed through a special sign-up link from the partner, not with a coupon code.

Tips & common questions

Can I switch plans later? Yes. Open the Billing Portal from your team's Billing page and pick another plan. Stripe adjusts the charge for the days left in your billing period.

Do collaborators or members cost extra? No. Every plan has unlimited users. Invite as many Admins, Members and Collaborators as you need.

Is there a free plan? No. The free paths are the 14-day trial and the two partner programs.

Are the small tools gated? No. Everything on the Tools page (Dieline Templates, Carton Marks, P&P Cards Layout, TTS Deck Editor and the others) is on every plan. The gated features are the bigger ones in the table above.

Why do I see a different price than a teammate abroad? Prices are shown in the currency of the country you browse from. The full currency table is in How payments work.
