Digital Mockups places your flat artwork into photo-style scenes (a box on a table, a card in a hand) without a 3D program. Pick a scene, fill its slots with images or colors, and download a PNG. The tool carries a BETA badge.

Teams that have 3D Mockups in their sidebar do not see this tool on the Tools page. 3D Mockups replaces it with scenes you build yourself; see 3D Mockups.

What this page helps you do

  • Browse mockup scenes by collection.
  • Upload an image or pick a color for each part of the scene.
  • Crop and adjust an image before it is rendered.
  • Download the finished mockup as a 3000 px PNG.

You'll start from Tools, under the Pre-production chip.

Before you start

  • Prepare your artwork as JPG, PNG, WebP or GIF, 4 MB per file at most.
  • Flat, straight-on art works best. The scene adds the perspective.

Open the tool

In the sidebar, open Tools, click Pre-production, then click Digital Mockups.

Helpful details

  • Key areas: a gallery of scenes with a Search mockups... box and an All Collections filter.
  • What you can do: search by name or narrow the gallery to one collection, then click a scene to open it.
  • Good to know: the card is on the Tools list only for teams without 3D Mockups.

Fill the scene

The scene page shows a reference image and a Customize Mockup list of its smart objects (the parts you can replace: the box front, a card face, a background).

Helpful details

  • Key areas: each smart object offers Upload Image (drag and drop or choose a file) or Select Color.
  • What you can do: skip any object you do not need. Only the images you upload and the colors you pick are used; the rest of the scene stays as shown.
  • Good to know: the file limit is 4 MB per image.

Crop and adjust an image

After uploading, use Crop Image and Adjust Image on that slot.

Helpful details

  • Key areas: Crop Image gives Zoom, Rotation, Flip H and Flip V, with the crop area matched to the slot's recommended shape; Apply Crop confirms. Adjust Image gives Brightness, Contrast, Saturation and Opacity sliders with Reset and Apply Adjustments.
  • What you can do: fix an off-centre upload or tone down a bright image so it sits better in the scene's lighting.
  • Good to know: adjustments apply to that one slot and are baked into the render.

Generate and download

Click Generate Mockup. After a few seconds the Generated Mockup appears.

Helpful details

  • Key areas: Show Reference and Show Generated Mockup switch between the original scene and your render. Download Mockup saves the PNG.
  • What you can do: change an image or color and generate again as often as you like.
  • Good to know: the render is a PNG 3000 px on its long side. There is no Save to game here; upload the download to the game's Media tab yourself.

Tips & common questions

The render looks blurry. The source image is too small for the slot. Export your art larger (300 dpi at the printed size is plenty) and upload again.

Can I add my own scene? No. The scenes come from a fixed library. For scenes built from your own components, see 3D Mockups, available to teams on the Pathfinder plan and up as it rolls out.

Why did Digital Mockups disappear from my Tools page? Your team now has 3D Mockups in the sidebar, which replaces it. Links you saved to a Digital Mockups scene still open.

Can I use a render on a sell sheet or in the catalog? Yes. Download the PNG and add it to the game's Media tab, then use it in the sell sheet editor or on the catalog page.
