Copy or archive a game
Copy a game into another team you belong to, or archive a game you are not working on without deleting it.

Two safe operations on a game: copy it into another team you are a member of, and archive it to hide it from the library while keeping everything. Neither deletes anything.
What this page helps you do
- Copy a game, with the parts you choose, to another team.
- Archive a game and bring it back later.
- Know what archiving changes and what it does not.
You'll start from the Games page in the sidebar, or from the game's header.
Before you start
- Copy to other account is for Admins and team owners, and only appears when you belong to at least one other team.
- Archiving is open to Admins and Members from the game header; Admins and owners can also archive from the library's card menu.
Copy a game to another team
In the library, open the ⋮ menu on the game's card and pick Copy to other account. The Copy Game to Another Team dialog opens. Choose a team under Select Team, tick what to copy, type the game's title to confirm, and click Copy Game.
Helpful details
- Key areas: the game itself always travels: its details, components, rules, notes, external resources and news feeds. Under Select what to copy you can add All Media, Version History, Outreach, Sellsheets, Projects and Playtests.
- What you can do: move a game from your personal team to a studio team, or hand a licensed game to a publisher's team that invited you.
- Good to know: the copy keeps the same title and lands in the other team as a separate game. Permissions are not copied; grant Collaborators again in the new team. If your role in the target team cannot add games, you see "Your role in that team cannot add games, so the game was not copied."
Archive a game
Open the game and click Archive Game in the header. The dialog says "This game will be archived and hidden from active views. You can unarchive it at any time." Type CONFIRM and click Archive.
Helpful details
- Key areas: from the library, Admins and owners can also pick Archive in the card's ⋮ menu, without the confirmation step.
- What you can do: archive published games years after launch, prototypes you set aside, and expansions that did not ship, to keep the library focused.
- Good to know: an archived game still counts toward your plan's game limit. To free a slot, delete the game instead. See Delete a game.
What an archived game looks like
The library hides archived games until you turn on Show Archived. Cards then carry an Archived badge. The game page shows the banner "This game is archived and hidden from active views."
Helpful details
- Key areas: on an archived game, Edit game is hidden and every tab except Game Info and Expansions is greyed out. The header buttons are dimmed too.
- What you can do: read the Game Info tab and the list of expansions. Nothing can be changed until you unarchive.
- Good to know: the game also disappears from your public catalog while archived.
Unarchive a game
Click Unarchive in the banner on the game page, or turn on Show Archived in the library and pick Unarchive from the card's ⋮ menu. Everything comes back as it was.
Tips & common questions
Should I archive or delete? Archive when you might want the game back or want to keep its history. Delete only when you are sure, and when you need the game slot.
Can I copy a game inside the same team? No. The copy always goes to another team. To start a variant in the same team, create a new game and paste what you need.
Will the copy include my cover and images? The cover and the Media tab travel only if you tick All Media.
I copied a game but some projects are missing. Projects with an access level above your role in the target team stay private to you there; the dialog tells you how many. Ask an Admin of that team to open them up.
What happens to an archived expansion? It stays listed on the base game's Expansions tab, and the base game is not affected.
