Game page tour
A walkthrough of a game's page, its header buttons and every tab, so you know where each part of your game lives.
Last reviewed October 11, 2026
A game's page is the home for everything about one game: its details, files, media, rules, components, outreach and more. This tour shows what sits where and points to the deeper articles.
What this page helps you do
- Get oriented when you open a game for the first time.
- Find the button or tab for the thing you need.
- Know which parts you edit in place and which open a separate page.
- Understand what changes when a game is archived.
You'll start from the Games page in the sidebar: click a game to open it.
The top bar
Above the game sit three controls: Go Back (to the library), Add to Catalog and Edit game.
Helpful details
- Key areas: Add to Catalog adds the game to your main public catalog and turns into Added to Catalog. Edit game opens a separate Edit page where every detail is changed.
- What you can do: the game page itself is read-only. Anything about the title, description, players, price or cover is edited on the Edit page, then saved with Save game.
- Good to know: Add to Catalog is greyed out until your main catalog is published, and always for Collaborators ("Sharing is not allowed for collaborators"). See Choose and order the games in a catalog.
The header
Under the top bar you see the cover, the status chip, the title, a Versions badge, an "Expansion of ..." link for expansions, the short description and a row of buttons.
Helpful details
- Key areas: click the status chip to open Update Status and move the game to another stage. The buttons are Versions, Notes, Whiteboard, Chat, a copy icon, a print icon and Archive Game.
- What you can do: Versions and Notes open side panels (Game versions, Game notes). Whiteboard opens the team whiteboard on a page named after the game. The copy icon copies a text summary of the game to your clipboard; the print icon prints the Game Info tab.
- Good to know: Chat appears only when your plan includes Team Chat (Oracle). It opens the game's own chat channel in a side panel, with Create the game channel the first time and Open in Team Chat to jump to the full chat. See Team chat.
Game Info tab
The first tab shows what you entered on the Edit page: the three hooks, players, duration, genre, mechanisms, designer and artist, age, complexity, MSRP, Already licensed in (or Available Worldwide), the BGG link and the long description. Hover a field and click to copy it.
Helpful details
- Key areas: three cards close the tab: Projects, Playtests and External Resources, each listing what is linked to this game with links to open them.
- What you can do: add links to outside files and folders in External Resources (External resources), or jump to the game's projects and playtests.
- Good to know: Already licensed in lists the countries where the game is already taken. Your catalog shows them to publishers, or "Available Worldwide" when the list is empty.
Files, Media, Rules and Components tabs
These four tabs hold the game's working material.
Helpful details
- Key areas: Files links a Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive folder to the game (Link a cloud folder to a game). It is a beta tab rolling out to teams, so you may not see it yet. Media holds images, YouTube videos and PDFs, with a public switch for your catalog (Game media and assets).
- What you can do: write one or several rulebooks in Rules (Drafting rules) and list every physical part in Components, with quotes and spec sheets (Game components).
- Good to know: Rules, Notes and Components save as you type. Media and Files save when you click their buttons.
Outreach, Sell Sheets and Invoices & POs tabs
These tabs hold the business side of the game.
Helpful details
- Key areas: Outreach logs every conversation about this game with publishers, reviewers, press, manufacturers and others (Track outreach for a game). It is the only place outreach is recorded.
- What you can do: Sell Sheets lists the sheets made for this game and opens the editor (Sell sheets). Invoices & POs lists invoices and purchase orders saved for this game in the Invoice & PO Generator (Invoices and purchase orders on a game).
- Good to know: the Sell Sheets tab shows on every plan, but the editor needs Pathfinder or Oracle and is not available to Collaborators.
Tabs that appear only sometimes
Three tabs show up only when they have something to show.
Helpful details
- Key areas: Expansions appears once the game has at least one expansion (Expansions). BGG Forums appears once the game has a BGG link (BGG forums). Permissions, on the right with a cog icon, is visible to Admins only (Sharing access on a game).
- What you can do: add the BGG link on the Edit page to unlock the forums tab; add an expansion from the create dialog to unlock the Expansions tab.
- Good to know: tab order is fixed. The address of the page remembers the open tab, so you can share a link straight to, say, the Components tab.
Archived games
An archived game shows the banner "This game is archived and hidden from active views." with an Unarchive button in place of the top bar buttons.
Helpful details
- Key areas: Edit game is hidden and every tab except Game Info and Expansions is disabled while the game is archived.
- What you can do: click Unarchive to bring everything back, exactly as it was.
- Good to know: see Copy or archive a game for what archiving does and does not change.
Tips & common questions
Where do I change the title or the cover? Click Edit game in the top bar. The Edit page has Game name and Game cover at the top. Click Save game when you are done.
My changes aren't saving. On the Edit page, nothing is saved until you click Save game. Rules, Notes and Components save automatically a moment after you stop typing, and show "Saved" when done.
How do I copy a game? The copy icon in the header copies a text summary to your clipboard. To copy the whole game into another team, use Copy to other account in the library's card menu. See Copy or archive a game.
Why can't I see the Permissions tab? It is shown to Admins only. Members and Collaborators do not see it.
Why is Chat missing from my header? Team Chat is part of the Oracle plan. On other plans the button does not appear.
