Last reviewed October 11, 2026

This page walks you through creating a Boardssey account: sign up, set up your team and profile, pick a plan and start your 14-day free trial. The whole thing takes about five minutes.

What this page helps you do

  • Sign up with your email or with a Google or Discord account.
  • Set up your team workspace and your own profile.
  • Pick a plan and start the 14-day free trial.
  • Claim free access if you are a LaunchBoom or Panda Game Manufacturing customer.

You'll start from the sign-up page at https://app.boardssey.com/auth/sign-up.

Before you start

  • Paid plans ask for a card at the end of sign-up. It is not charged until the 14 days are over, and you can cancel before then.
  • LaunchBoom and Panda customers skip the card step. Use the sign-up link your partner gave you (it ends in ?plan=launchboom or ?plan=panda), otherwise Boardssey shows the regular plans.
  • Decide whose email to use. Your work email is a good choice if you will invite teammates later.

Open the sign-up page and pick one of two ways in.

  1. With email: type your email and a password (at least 8 characters), repeat the password, then click Sign up with Email.
  2. With Google or Discord: under Or Continue with, click Sign in with Google or Sign in with Discord and approve the request.

Helpful details

  • Key areas: after an email sign-up you see "We sent you a confirmation email". Open the email and click the link. A Resend link button is right there if it does not arrive.
  • What you can do: add the other sign-in method later from Settings, so you can use both a password and Google.
  • Good to know: Boardssey signs in with the same Google or Discord button whether you are new or returning.

Step 1 of 3: set up your team

After signing up you land in a three-step setup: Team, Profile and Plan. Every Boardssey user works inside a team, even when working alone.

Helpful details

  • Key areas: Team/Company name (solo? use your own name or a studio name), Website (optional) and Is this a publisher? with Yes / No.
  • What you can do: rename the team later from Settings > Team Account.
  • Good to know: click Create Team to move on. The team name also becomes part of your address in Boardssey, so pick something you are happy to see in a link.

Step 2 of 3: tell us about you

The Profile step asks for your First name, Last name and the roles that describe what you do.

Helpful details

  • Key areas: the role list has 14 options: Game Designer, Game Developer, Illustrator, Graphic Designer, Cultural Consultant, Production Manager, Translator, Sculptor, Editor, Writer, Insert Designer, Art Director, Project Manager and Owner. Pick at least one; you can pick several.
  • What you can do: use Go Back to fix the team step, then Continue.
  • Good to know: roles are for your profile only. They do not change what you can do in the app.

Step 3 of 3: pick a plan and start the trial

The Plan step shows the three plans side by side with a Monthly / Yearly switch.

  1. Compare Adventurer, Pathfinder (marked Most popular) and Oracle. Yearly billing costs ten months' worth, so two months are free.
  2. Click Start 14-Day Trial on the plan you want.
  3. Enter your card in the checkout that opens. Nothing is charged until the trial ends.
  4. When checkout finishes you land in your new team, ready to create a game.

Helpful details

  • Key areas: the plan cards list what each plan includes. Features a plan does not have are struck through.
  • What you can do: change plans later from the Billing page, up or down.
  • Good to know: a new team has no plan until you finish this step. Every page of the app sends you to Billing until a plan is chosen. The full comparison is in Plans and pricing.

LaunchBoom and Panda customers: claim free access

If you signed up through a partner link, the Plan step shows one card instead of three.

Helpful details

  • Key areas: the card is labeled LaunchBoom Customer Exclusive ("3 months free access") or Panda GM Customer Exclusive ("Complimentary with your Panda partnership").
  • What you can do: click Claim Free Access. No card is needed.
  • Good to know: there is no coupon code to type. If you do not see the partner card, you did not arrive through the partner link; ask your partner for it before you choose a paid plan. See LaunchBoom program and Panda Game Manufacturing program.

Tips & common questions

What is actually free? The first 14 days. After that, the plan you picked is charged unless you cancel first.

Do I need a credit card to start? For Adventurer, Pathfinder and Oracle, yes. LaunchBoom and Panda customers do not.

I did not get the confirmation email. Check your spam folder, then click Resend link on the sign-up page. Still nothing? Write to hello@boardssey.com.

Can I have more than one team? Yes. Open the team switcher at the top of the sidebar and click Create a Team, or click Add a new team on the teams page. Each team has its own plan and its own trial. You can also be invited to other people's teams with the same account.

Can I switch plans later? Yes. From the profile menu at the bottom of the sidebar, open Settings, then the Billing tab (Primary Owner only), or click Upgrade under the Games and Projects usage bars in the sidebar. See Update or cancel your subscription.
